The second expanded instalment of the Headcount to Hybrid: Unpacked series

The future of people and culture leadership will require a very different kind of capability.
Not “traditional HR”.Not culture theatre. Not administrative compliance management.
People leaders will increasingly need to understand:
socio-technical systems
governance architecture
behavioural risk
workforce analytics
AI fluency
systems resilience
organisational redesign
Because hybrid workforces are fundamentally relational coordination systems.
And coordination systems fail socially long before they fail technically.
I suspect we are moving toward a future where the strongest people and culture leaders function less like operational support managers and more like organisational systems architects.
That is both a significant opportunity and a very significant capability challenge for the profession.
Let me know what you think!
